Cattleya Mossiae generally have three sepals, two petals, and a lip/ labellum. When this beautiful species blooms, it turns 180 degrees before opening, fully exposing its lip for pollination. For the most part, the size of orchids can vary between 15 cm and 18 cm. Its colors are appreciated in various shades ranging from purple, lilac, white, pink and magenta. The labellum is very tense and its color varies, it always has yellow marks that extend from the throat, which are accompanied by purple veins. Usually for each floral scape, 3 or 4 flowers manage to bloom, and sometimes they can give more than normal. Slightly cool temperatures, abundant light and good air circulation are the fundamental conditions for them to preserve their incomparable aesthetics.
Its flowering occurs between April and May, for this reason it is also known as "the Flower of May".
